If making a visit to Beijing, the Summer Palace China is a must see while you are there. We took a cab to the entrance and arrived about 3pm in the afternoon to witness an eclipse of the sun not to be repeated for another 1,000 years. We should have put a day aside to ensure we got to take in everything on offer.
This palace, garden and surrounding lakes and other magnificent buildings is something to behold. In the middle of winter the lake is frozen over and a great novelty to walk on while you approach the palace itself. Don't miss it!!!
